Wayne Agnew founder & CEO

At the age of 9 Wayne was a young apprentice as he watched uncles and family members do small jobs on the weekends and holidays and discovered he had a natural eye for it. while other kids his age played video games, Wayne could spot a crooked picture frame from across a room or notice when a door wasn’t closing quite right.

One day as Wayne and his grandmother were cleaning the house a man in a crisp polo shirt and khakis stood on the porch, clipboard in hand and a practiced smile on his face.

Hi I’m here about the roofing estimate you requested”

Wayne watched from the hallway as the man walked around the house and used words like

” emergency repair

”structural damages

” limited-time discount

Followed by I need half now and can start tomorrow and pulling out a contract needless to say he never showed up to fix the roof. That day Wayne made a decision he’d make for the rest of his life. He would become a contractor, just like he always dreamed. But he would be different. He would be the kind of contractor his grandmother deserved-one who showed up when he said he would, who charged fair prices, who treated every home like it belonged to his own family. Years later when A Cut Above became known in the community as the company you could trust, Wayne would still think about that day and vowed to keep the traditional values other companies forgot about.
